BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Dr. Williams grew up in a Christian home but did not make a true profession of faith in Jesus Christ until 1973 while in the Navy. In 1975, he sensed a call to the pastoral ministry but continued to serve as a lay person, remaining employed in the business world. He finally responded to the call of the ordained ministry in 1991. After completing seminary he was ordained in 1993. His first pastorate was at Snow Memorial Baptist Church, Johnson City, Tennessee. He has since served at Abney Memorial Baptist Church in Greenwood, South Carolina before coming to Mechanicsville.

His personal vision includes 4 “E’s”. Exalt, Encourage, Equip, and Evangelize.

Creating a strong foundation in Christ through: Praising and honoring God, equipping the saints to yield changed lives, loving acceptance of all God’s creation, and finding answers to today’s problems through God’s redeeming love. Proverbs 29:18; Psalm 99:5; Colossians 2:1-2
His interests include historical studies, especially the Civil War, Revolutionary War, and World War II, all forms of music, and vegetable gardening.
