BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Charlene was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Her father was a professor at Madison College (now James Madison University). The family moved to New Jersey when she was in 3rd grade, and her father accepted a position at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). She was a state champion for the Voice of Democracy Speech competition for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, competing at the national level.

Charlene returned to James Madison University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Library Science. Charlene is a voracious reader–a lover of historical fiction and children’s literature. She covets the joys of being wife and helpmate to Pastor Ted. Additionally she is an avid researcher and thoroughly enjoys digging into the Word of God. This led to becoming a certified Precept on Precept Bible teacher. Charlene has founded Precept Bible studies in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina, and now here in Virginia. She also worked as a historical interpreter at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, where she taught children in early 19th century historical studies.

Her interests include historical studies and gardening (flowers and shrubs not vegetables). She loves visiting colonial homes and museums.
